A ramp plan,
not a bot network
Warm-up tools don't all work the same way, and the difference decides whether the reputation you build is real.
How most tools work
Simulated engagement
Networks of accounts email each other and mark messages as important, manufacturing a reputation signal. Mailbox providers have become considerably better at discounting that traffic.
How this works
Your own real sending
You set a target daily volume. The tool recommends a gradual ramp toward it, so the pattern a provider sees is your genuine mail, increasing predictably.
What that means
Nothing to discount
There's no artificial traffic for a provider to filter out, because there isn't any. The history being built is the one that counts.
Three fields and a schedule
Connect the mailboxes you send from, tell the tool where you're heading, and follow the ramp it recommends.
01
Connect the inbox
Add the corporate or work inboxes you'll be sending from. Connect as many as you need: there's no cap and no per inbox charge.
02
Set your target volume
Enter the maximum number of emails you plan to send per day from that inbox once you're at full speed.
03
Follow the recommended ramp
The tool turns that target into a gradual schedule. Start low, increase steadily, avoid the spikes that trigger filtering.
01
A brand-new domain or inbox
No sending history means providers have nothing to judge you on. This is where a ramp genuinely changes the outcome.
02
Resuming after a long pause
A mailbox that's been quiet for months looks new again. Restarting at full volume looks like a compromised account.
When warming actually matters
Warming helps most in a few specific situations, and in one common case you can skip it.
03
Scaling an outreach setup
Adding inboxes to spread volume across a team. Each new mailbox starts from zero history, however established the domain is.
04
When you probably don't need it
An established domain sending consistent volume for months. Your effort is better spent on list quality and authentication.
How warming an inbox
actually works
Warm-up is a sending pattern, not a switch you turn on. Three things decide whether it works.
01
Authenticate before you send anything
SPF, DKIM and DMARC come first. Without them, no amount of gradual ramping will convince a mailbox provider that the domain is legitimate.
02
Verify the list, then start small
Early bounces on a new domain are the fastest way to poison it. Clean the list first, then begin well below your target volume and increase steadily.
03
Keep the pattern consistent
Spikes trigger filtering faster than volume does. The Warm-up Tool takes your target and recommends the ramp so the curve stays predictable.
Warming a domain that bounces
is wasted effort
A ramp builds history, but every bounce during it undoes the work. Authenticate first, then verify the list you'll be sending to. Gmail permanently rejects senders above a 2% hard-bounce rate and Microsoft enforces the same limit. Warm-up is the last step of preparation, not the first.

PRICE COMPARISON
Per-inbox pricing gets worse the moment you grow
Every mailbox you add is another line on the invoice. Here's what a year costs as an outreach setup scales, against a plan that doesn't charge per mailbox at all.

How the comparison is calculated
The category average is $34 per inbox per month, the midpoint of the published list prices. Multiply it by your inbox count over twelve months and you get the yearly figure. Email Awesome's column is zero because warm up is included in every plan at no extra cost, for a limited time. These are list prices, not negotiated rates, and they exclude the verification credits or sending features bundled into some plans. The comparison isolates warm-up cost alone.

FAQs
Questions about the warm-up tool
Do I need a warm-up tool at all?
It depends on where you're sending from. A brand-new domain or inbox, or one resuming after a long pause, has no sending history for providers to judge — there, a gradual ramp genuinely matters. If you've been sending consistent volume from an established domain for months, the value is much smaller and your effort is better spent on list quality and authentication.
Is the Warm-up Tool included in the Free plan?
Yes — for now. The Warm-up Tool is included in every plan, including Free, with no per-inbox charge and no cap on the number of inboxes. This is a limited-time inclusion: it may become a paid add-on later. Connect your inboxes, set your usual sending volume, and follow the guided ramp-up.
How long does it take to warm up an email domain?
There is no universal warm-up timeline. The pace depends on the domain and inbox history, authentication, target volume, engagement, complaint and bounce signals, and the mailbox provider. Increase volume gradually, avoid sudden spikes, and adjust the plan when reputation or delivery signals deteriorate.
Why did my domain reputation drop immediately after warming up?
Investigate the change rather than assuming a single cause. Compare authentication, audience source, suppression handling, volume changes and provider feedback before and after the campaign. A gradual ramp cannot compensate for unwanted messages or misconfiguration, and the timing alone does not prove that list hygiene caused the decline.
Does Email Awesome send warm-up emails for me?
Yes. Email Awesome’s Delivery Optimizer automatically sends and receives warm-up emails through your connected mailbox, helping build sender reputation and support better inbox placement. Set your daily sending target, track delivery results, and pause anytime.
